DREAM INTERPRETATION !

All of us dream but few of us remember what the dream was by the morning. Even it we awake in the middle of the night, straight after having the dream, which seems oh so vivid, it is usually gone in the clear light of day. Usually when we dream it is a jumble of our daily cares and worries. I have known of people who were short of cash, dreaming that they were presented with huge bills that they were unable to pay. A person who is worried about being evicted and at the same time is trying to win a cruise, could see her or himself being forced to walk the plank on a cruise ship. But dreams can also be warnings. Dreaming of a cricket match where the umpire gives a wrong decision could be symptomatic of a situation you are in; where the actions of the other party are not 'exactly cricket' in other words, they are not playing by The Queensbury Rules.

Dreams can, however, be far more complex than that. Here are three examples.

A woman dreamed that a friend had entered her flat in the middle of the night using the door key. The woman challenged her friend because she had not given her the key and wanted to know what she was doing there. It was quite clear that this friend, who in the dream was dressed in black, was not a friend after all and was meddling in this woman's affairs, behind her back (middle of the night) and it was obviously not to the woman's advantage. The next night the dream continued: a disturbing feature in itself. The friend returned during daylight, still wearing black and handed the woman an envelope containing about £30. The friend had her eyes downcast and would not look at the woman. After the dream the woman distanced herself from her friend but it was too late as she had been clandestinely turning people against her. She also had a considerable amount of the woman's belongings in storage of which she sent a small portion back. The cost of the shipment was exactly £30.

The next dream is a very complicated one. A lady who was beginning to work with children in a very innovative way dreamt that she was in a limousine with her own children. The limo was being driven by a chauffeur whom she recognised as a distant relative of her deceased husband, who was currently helping her out. The limo drove into the gates of a large mansion where there were many children in the grounds, playing. She told the chauffeur to stay where he was and to look after her own children then she went into the house by the back door. She found herself in a dark room like a potting shed and it did indeed contain pots of green shoots just trying to emerge. Satisfied she went from there into the house, specifically the dining room where she saw the relative being served his lunch by a servant. I concluded that the children in the playground were her future clients and the green shoots were new ideas she would produce in the future to help others. As to her husband's relative, he was not to be trusted because he had not only left his post, leaving her children unattended but, being waited on by a servant, his only interest was to serve himself. This prediction came true as did the one about the green shoots as, years later, she discovered many natural remedies to help problem children.

Dreams where we are being chased and running for our lives are significant in that they show we are running away from a problem, a problem that we do not want to face (after all, how often in our dreams do we turn around and face our pursuer?). Children who have nightmares may also be subconsciously reliving that which they cannot voice, often through fear of either being ridiculed or because they feel that they will no longer be loved. This latter is not a logical reason but children's logic is not the same as an adult's. Frightening dreams can lead to bedwetting, which then compounds the situation. They are afraid to voice their fear; they are afraid to go to sleep in case they have a nightmare and wet the bed. This can lead to high anxiety states and even asthma attacks in children who are not predisposed to it. I remember my own son having a very informative dream when he was about ten. He told me he dreamt he was in a room in a hotel when a dragon came to the door, scratching at it and belching fire. The fire started to burn the door and smoke came in under it into the room so that it was hard to see and to breathe. In the room were several of his male relatives who were mine also. They all fled leaving my son alone to perish. It was quite clear that in a crisis, none of these men could be relied upon.

Dreams of rooms or houses are often to do with the self, our inner self that is, and tells us much, if only we have the objectivity to interpret them. Recurring dreams are also important because they are telling us that there is something that has been overlooked. Although there are many books on dream symbolism, I have found that a symbol may represent different things to different people so that it cannot be taken for granted that a spider, the symbol of creativity to the Native American Indians, is the same for a westerner who is usually terrified of the things. Dark and frightening dreams may not have anything to do with the person but more do to with his or her surroundings. Living in a house where the occupier has committed suicide, where someone was raped or murdered, can lead not only to terrible nightmares but even to disturbing events, often known as poltergeist activity, as the spirit of the deceased person tries to make contact with the occupant of the house, in order to either understand their situation or to free them so that they can move on. It is not necessarily justice that they want but more to tell someone their story. I once lived in a house and clairvoyantly saw a chap hanging from the rafters in the attic. I discerned that the man was simple of mind and speech and when a rape had taken place, several hundred years ago, this poor chap was blamed for it. Unable to express himself, in frustration he had hung himself. My house was not there then, the town being a Victorian development. What had been there was a farm. He had killed himself in the loft of one of the barns which was now overlaid by my house. That is how he came to appear in my attic. His spirit had been there ever since, waiting to be released which I did right away.

It is not only deceased beings that can cause us nightmares but the etheric energy left in the area or on the very ground on which our house was built. Places where battles have taken place, especially those of the Civil War, which ranged all over the country, if the energy has not been cleared away, and usually it hasn't, can cause us to feel ill, although we might not have nightmares. I have come across many people who have become ill as soon as they have moved house because of energy, either left by the previous people or because of an event that happened in the area, even if it was many years ago. By many, I have discovered negative energy, affecting people, that was up to 2,000 years old, having spent two years travelling around Europe, inspecting places where there was terrible bloodshed, human sacrifice (especially of children), plague and fires that engulfed whole towns. Did it make me ill? You bet! In one instance, I visited a town that had suffered seventy one air raids during the Second World War. As I left the underground and stepped on to the street, in the town centre, I fainted. Even a fatality on the road can affect us. As the site of road traffic accidents are not blessed afterwards, sometimes the spirit of the person is still there. Because of the negative energy there is usually a series of accidents on that very spot in quick succession and the place becomes known as 'an accident black spot,' yet nothing is done to restore harmony to the area. I should think the energy around the site of the Twin Towers must be appalling for those with a high sensitivity.

We have come round in a full circle from dream interpretation to talking about negative energy, but all of it is a form of expression, which if not recognised can make us ill and, if they be warnings, can blight our life if unheeded. If you would like me to interpret a dream for you, have moved and haven't felt right since, or just feel that something is wrong and can't place your finger on it, please telephone me or send an email including all the details and I will be able to give you an idea as to the cause as well as a price for the work before I begin.

Sweet Dreams!
